Introduction

 

This scholarship is designed to honor student-athletes at C. Milton Wright High School who have consistently exemplified exceptional sportsmanship, achievement, and leadership within Wright athletics and the broader school community over the course of their four years. Recipients are selected based on their involvement and impact in both junior varsity and varsity sports, their personal reflection, and recommendation from their coaches. Four athletes will each receive a $500 scholarship, which will be presented at the Senior Awards Ceremony.

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION 

Eligibility

 

  • Current Booster Club Member: Applicant's parent, guardian and/or family must be a current member of the Wright Athletic Boosters by March 31, 2026 of the athlete's senior year to apply.

  • Senior Athlete or Manager:  Applicant must have participated in at least one athletic program as an athlete, athletic trainer or manager during his/her senior year.  Applicant must have attended CMW High School for his/her entire senior year.

  • Minimum GPA: Applicant must have a minimum cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or above (weighted) through the end of the Q2. 
  • Copy of Applicants High School Transcript:  This should be uploaded using the link below on the form. (Unofficial transcript through Q2 of his/her senior year, can be a screen shot from HAC).
  • Two Letters of Recommendation: Applicant must provide two letters of recommendation including one from a CMW coach who coached the applicant during his/her senior year.  These should be uploaded using the link below on the form or CMW guidance counselors can forward these letters if they were previously provided for college applications. 
  • Personal Essay: Applicant is required to write a personal essay answering the following question:  "Describe how participation in athletics or a specific coach at CMW have influenced your life and how lessons learned will affect your future."  Essay should be 500 words or less and double spaced.  This should be uploaded using the link below on the form.
  • If selected, applicant must provide proof of enrollment at an accredited college, university or technical school in the fall semester following graduation.
  • Applicants will be disqualified if they receive a full scholarship.
  • Application must be submitted electronically through this form, with all necessary paperwork by, April 10, 2026 at 11:59pm.  Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

 

All application requirements must be submitted together as one submission thru the Google form.

(Unless your letter of recommendation is coming from the guidance department, which still must be submitted before 4/10/26)

Guidelines for Scholarship Payment

  • Scholarship recipients will be announced at the Senior Sports Awards Ceremony.
  • Recipients will be contacted via email by a representative of Wright Athletic Boosters and given instructions for payment of scholarship.
  • All information provided to Wright Athletic Boosters shall be considered private and confidential and for use only as needed for selection purposes. All decisions are final.
